A CHANCE TO ESCAPE AND ENJOY THE CHARM AND MAGIC OF PAPER THEATRE
Dates: 20th May 2019, 3rd June 2019, 10 June 2019, 17 June 2019, 24 June 2019, 1st July 2019, 8th July 2019 and 15th July 2019,
Time: Each session starts at 6:30pm prompt and will finish at 8:30pm.
Suitability: Beginners (Level 1)
Tutor: Sharon Oldale
Workshop: Over the course of 8 evenings you will learn about paper, understanding the grain direction, cutting and folding techniques and how to construct basic concertina structures.
You will progress to learn variations of the basic concertina producing a concertina spine structure with removable/ replaceable pages and then a concertina with glued pages and a piano hinged spine.
For your final structure you will create a dramatic star book with scenes of your choice.
Opportunities to be taught to create such a structure are scarcely available so we are delighted to be able to offer this opportunity to you.
Refreshments: Refreshments are provided over the 8 sessions.
What to bring: Glasses if you need them for close work and please ensure you wear sturdy, fully enclosed shoes.
